The Art and Soul of Therapy

.

Types of Therapy Used in the SH Method

The art of therapy is beyond any singular technique. The SH Method is centers around fitting the person. Thier needs, views and goals. Their unique self. That being said, there are lot of useful therapeutic models I use, as listed below. I also add a touch of practices from life coaching to support your growth and development to help you reach your goals. Also, relaxation, presence and play are very effective ways of getting through blockages in a way that talk therapy alone can not accomplish. In my office I use a unique mix of these methods, designed just for you. To help you relax, elevate from where you are and create new patterns in your mind and body. So you can have the kind of fulfillment you desire deep down in your heart, mind and soul.

Types of Therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT is a present-focused style of therapy. It focuses on changing your viewpoint and opinions about your self and life. It would be something like noticing your viewpoint or lens and then making choices to see if a more helpful viewpoint or lens would be more supportive in giving the feelings and results that you want in your life. Studies have shown that CBT can be as effective as or more effective than psychiatric medications and other forms of therapy.

Cognitive Therapy

Combines cognitive therapy with principles that come from meditative practices. The client is supported in learning how to become a more peaceful centered observer of themselves and life. Learning how to become more present helps one to be more effective in life and also to enjoy the process of life more. Mindfulness is a powerful tool to have in life.

Jungian Psychodynamic-

Jungian Psychodynamic Therapy is a great way of exploring deep rooted issues stemming from childhood, the unconscious and unresolved issues related to family of origin and the collective unconscious. It can help people who struggle with unhealthy relationship patterns, self-sabotage issues, depression, low self-esteem and creative blockages. We can look at subconscious blockages that keep you from being able to change even when you consciously want to.

Experiential Therapy

This is a style of therapy that has one go beyond talking and into exploring new ways of being in the session. It is a great approach in dealing with anxiety, confidence, leadership and getting past internal blockages in relationships and careers. We can use role playing, guided imagery and other techniques to get past old limits, beliefs and fears.

Post Modern Therapy

Postmodern Therapy helps with examining inherited views and beliefs and then supporting the client in purposefully determining and defining their views and values for themselves about themselves and their life. This transformation is created through dialogue and inquiry based learning.

Existential Therapy

Existential therapy empowers the client to take responsibility for the decisions in their life. It then empowers the client to be conscious and to actively make choices to fulfill the future they desire. Existential Therapy pulls from many different therapeutic models and philosophies including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Jungian Therapy, Experiential Therapy and Gestalt Therapy.

Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt Therapy is a whole person present-oriented approach. It includes your experience in your body, in your subconscious and your experience as a social being. Internal conflicts are resolved through creative re-enactments and experiments designed to challenge your growth edges. The process teaches client how to be aware of their feelings, their body and their patterns.

Solution Therapy

This is a very practical approach to therapy. It is goal oriented and solution based. It is focusing on solving the problem, rather than on analyzing or processing its history. It is an excellent therapeutic model for individuals and couples who want to engage in short term therapy.

Strength Based Therapy

This style of therapy focuses on creating a positive, empowering view of yourself, others and life as a whole. It is designed to look at and enhance your unique gifts, strengths, and qualities. It is designed to enhance your overall state of happiness and fulfillment in life. While it enhances the positive, it also is reasonable and does include looking at and developing past one’s growing edges.

Play Therapy & Art Therapy

Play Therapy and Art Therapy encourages exploration of life events, feelings and unconscious paradigms using creativity, art and play. It’s a way to help people relax, communicate, and explore unresolved events and patterns. It’s an approach that helps people get past the defense mechanisms that talk therapy modalities are not able to. Which can save years of time.

Humanity Therapy

Therapy is a way of approaching the human experience through a lens of compassion. Its aim is to honor the individual’s unique positive traits and characteristics. It is a way of listening to the client to empower their ability to use their feelings, knowledge, instincts and intuition to heal, grow and create fulfillment in their life. It is a way of learning to love oneself and a way of learning to appreciate the unique beauty of others.

Narrative Therapy

Narrative Therapy focuses on what the story is that we tell ourselves about ourselves and our lives. It starts with increasing awareness of our subconscious interpretations about our selves and out lives. Which includes looking at familial and cultural view about the meaning of our life. It looks at the interpretations we have that may give us or may take away our experience of power or empowerment in our life. It is a way of choosing our own story.and becoming the conscious author of our one’s own life.
