Bring a New Light To Parenting

“What if joyful parenting was was a style and perspective we could learn? Is your view about parenting the one you learned growing up? Is it a view that empowers you and your child to thrive? What Would Happen if we Transformed our relationship to parenting and what it means to create a happy family? The SH Method for Parenting is to help people access the key principles of effective parenting and to help family’s experience deeply fulfilling relationships and thriving lives. And to leave each person experiencing a deeper connection to themselves, each other and to create a beautiful adventure that is a masterpiece of love, generosity and art. ”

Children and Stages.

Newborns.

What newborns need most is the development of a strong bond and attachment with their parents. How well they attach with you sets their foundation for confidence in themselves, life and in their relationship with others. In therapy we can explore any internal or external barriers to being able to bond with your newborn. We can talk about parenting techniques and tips that can help you respond to your baby’s cues and needs.

Toddlers and Young Children.

What toddlers need the most is support in developing a healthy sense of self and the beginnings of independence as they begin their exploration of understanding the world. Therapy can help you gain the skills in being able to gain the skills to help your little one do that successfully. And learn to navigate challenging problems like temper tantrums, and behavioral issues with the most effectiveness and the least stress.

Teenage Children.

Teenagers struggle to define their own identity separate from their parents. Therapy can help you and your teen communicate in a healthy way. Support with effective disciple methods for teens can save a lot of energy and heartache for everyone. This stage is a not an easy one, but your teen and you can cultivate a healthy bond and develop more trust and understanding than ever.

Family Challenges.

Figuring Out Your Parenting Style.

There are many styles and ways to parent your children. We can talk about your and your children’s needs, your lifestyle and challenges. I will support you in discovering the parenting style that supports your unique needs, commitments and life.

Parenting and Divorce.

Helping your child get through the stress and grief of divorce is a very difficult task. Discover ways of supporting them in dealing with difficult emotions in a healthy way and helping them create a non-damaging view of what happened. Parenting skills, communication skills, stress reduction and support with coping can help you accomplish a conscious separation. That can help you create a healthy new normal so your kids can feel confident, loved and resilient, —and with an even stronger relationship to both parents.

Blended Families.

The process of forming a new, blended family can make children feel that having a relationship with a new parent is a kind of betrayal to their biological parent. Or it might make too real the grief about the ending of their biological parents’ relationship. Make progress faster and less painfully by gaining skills in supporting your child in processing these complex feelings and parenting changes. You can cultivate a great relationship with the stepparent and child and create a loving and flourishing new family.
